I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), and provide counseling and psychotherapy services to individual men, women, and couples in Silicon Valley via my office in Sunnyvale, California.
After graduating from John F. Kennedy University with honors in 2004 with a Masters in Counseling Psychology, I completed my Marriage and Family Therapist Internship at John F. Kennedy University's Community Counseling Center, working primarily with adults and couples and helping them resolve relationship and life transition issues.
In addition to my graduate school work and licensing qualification, I have studied under and continue to train with Ellyn Bader, Ph.D. and Pete Pearson, Ph.D. at the Couples Institute in Menlo Park, California. I have also been a therapist for the Couples Institute helping numerous couples resolve their relationship issues at Couples Institute workshops.
Prior to attending graduate school to practice marriage and family therapy, I was a highly successful human resources manager for 16 years.
The focus of my HR work was helping technology companies meet their recruiting and staffing needs, first by being my company's top recruiter of engineers and programmers for Fortune 500 companies in the Houston area for three years running, and, after relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, by helping an Internet start-up and a software company.
Among my other achievements, I helped develop a recruitment software program, managed a staff of 16 recruiters, and developed national staffing and college recruiting plans.
My years of being a minority businesswoman in corporate environments and my ability to relate to the demands of technology workers while balancing my professional and personal lives makes me uniquely qualified to assist professionals struggling with managing the many transitions and demands placed upon them in the fast-paced environment of Silicon Valley.
In addition to being described as patient, sensitive, honest, creative, caring, and non-judgmental, my prior experiences in human resources and journalism allow me to help people feel quickly at ease and respected.
My unique success as a minority businesswoman married to a Jewish man makes me uniquely qualified to help clients make the adjustments necessary to secure a successful relationship in families from different worlds while honoring your own cultural heritage and traditions.
My experiences successfully relocating from Texas to Silicon Valley without a support network and building a vibrant professional and personal life in this fast-paced environment inform my work with clients and allow me to help them find creative solutions to define and create their own definition of success.
I believe we all have the answers we need within ourselves, and it is my job to help my clients connect with the internal guidance and resources every human has and learn new skills and behaviors that will help them achieve their personal and professional goals, and truly live a life worth celebrating!
